The VDZH e.V., the German Association of the Hair Replacement Industry, was founded on 20 April 2013 in Frankfurt am Main as an interest group of the major German hair replacement manufacturers, comprising 11 companies.

The aim of the association is to safeguard, represent and promote the interests of the German hair replacement industry at the level of manufacturers and importers. Through the association we want to bundle cross-industry administrative tasks and implement regulatory requirements by leveraging synergies. The association's objectives therefore include defining medical quality guidelines for the implementation of the MDR for hair replacement products. The association is also a negotiating partner for the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Funds (GKV-Spitzenverband) on the topic of "Product Group 34" – hair replacement. Further objectives include the organisation and execution of the trade fair for hair replacement, "THE HAIR".

Statutory requirements, support for the Federal Association of Hair Replacement Specialists (BVZ) in negotiations with the Association of Substitute Health Insurance Funds, and other regulatory and administrative tasks can be addressed jointly within the association. This allows all members to leverage synergies and tackle important topics together. Transparency is important to all founding members. For this reason there is a continuous exchange about ongoing and planned association activities.

The VDZH e.V. also indirectly represents the interests of German hair replacement retailers by supporting the German hair replacement industry as a whole. We see ourselves as a partner of the Federal Association of Hair Replacement Specialists (BVZ) and strive for close cooperation.
